Tweaking the Symmetry
Once I had the proportions figured out I took the model off of the frame and mounted it on a piece of cardboard to work on the symmetry
It's difficult on the frame because the frame is not symmetrical
I don't know if this is normal for these frames or if it is just the one I have

Last Ride of 2012
It's early December and dry so I pulled the bikes out to run some fuel stabilizer through them before I put them away for the winter
I took them out for a quick spin before I parked them in the garage
It was coooold

Back to the Production Tail
In November my attention returned to the production tail that I started last winter
It started to get cold out so back to work in the basement
To review: I'm making a tail section for a first or second generation Honda Goldwing ('75-'79) that I can pull a mold from
I'm using a '79 Goldwing frame in my basement to work from for now until it warms up and I can complete the plug and fiberglassing on one of my '78s in the garage
Then, either vacuum form or fiberglass a series of replicas

Another Run to Port Dover
This was a bad start to a quick run to Port Dover in September
Alannah's petcock dropped out and emptied her gas tank onto the ground
She got it all back together and rode it to Steve's and then took his 1100 to Port Dover

Lion's Head
In September Steve and I joined John Bennett and his Magna crew for a ride to Lion's Head
It was supposed to be to Owen Sound but John unilaterally extended it to Lion's Head when he wouldn't stop in Owen Sound

Turn Signals
I have decided to mount the front turn signals to the headlight bracket so I made some Bondo Glass fairings for them
Mounting the Tail
The bodywork is painted and installed
I have to plug the tail wiring into the stock wiring harness and bolt the tail into place

Headlight Bucket Mounted
The fiberglass has been ground down and neatened up and a coat of Bondo has been applied
The headlight bucket has been mounted to the bracket
2 nuts were Bondo Glassed to the inside of the top of the bucket and bolt to the bracket
At the bottom a single bolt goes through the bracket and bucket

Headlight Bucket Fiberglassed
The fiberglassing is done and yes it looks like hell
(for now)
It was a real chore to get the headlights and bracket out of the fiberglassed bucket

Fiberglassing the Bucket
A plug has been made over the headlights and mount with cardboard and plaster
This has been covered with spray glue and aluminum foil in preparation for fiberglassing

Port Dover July Friday the 13th
Tim, Mary, Alannah and I left Steve's in Brantford and met Gary and Kirk at the Boston Baptist Church
Pastor Peter Lemont was greeting everyone as they came through on the way to Port Dover
When we arrived in Port Dover it was already hot
